Natural selection doesn't take place, it is active intelligent selection. b) the tracing of ancestry through DNA is now coming up with completely different evolutionary trees so the methodology cannot be said to established to make this conclusion c) common ancestry and common design can look very similar. To continue the car analogy above - the Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Octavia, Audi A3 and Seat Leon have all the same basic underpinnings but are all different due to active design. Some of these cars do not have some features that others do but they have commonly designed constituents (eg the wiring loom) that serve all. That means that some of the cars have vestigial features that are not used because the car doesn't have that option fitted. So design is still the correct answer, even though it looks like that design has redundant or meaningless features. Couple of things -
