Thanks to Albert for pointing us to some fresh Keller material in his addresses to London City Mission. I’m listening to the lecture on movement now–good comparisons between institutions and movements. He points out that movements must possess shared vision and values that result in sacrifice for the vision. Low pay, long hours, lay driven. The diversity in a true movement creates new ideas, practices, and mission that bubble up from the bottom, not dictated from the top. Keller unpacks the Dynamics of Movement:
- Shared Vision
- Strong Catholicity/Unity
- Spontaneous Growth
